The latest issue of iGuitar (a great UK based guitar magazine) has a 4 page review and 9 minute video of the GMII. Thanks to iGuitar and reviewer Jamie Humphries for an informative review.

Received an email from Jimi this morning with photos (showing him rockin’ a GMII) and an interview he did for Gitaar Plus magazine in the Netherlands. He’s on the cover this month so check it out!! If you can read Dutch that is…
Link to the Gitaar Plus website here. Hoping to get a translation up on this site soon.
Loaded into Austin City Limits this morning, with the Experience Hendrix tour. On the wall in a row are framed posters of Elvis Costello, Wilco, and My Morning Jacket. What do they all have in common? Why they all use 3 Monkeys amps!!
Shipping to dealers this week is our newest model the Sock Monkey. Shown in the photo all together awaiting final testing and shipment.
Our UK dealer Toneworld is revealing their new showroom on Saturday March 3rd, They’ll be having a bit of a launch party on that day and the store will be opened by a famous ‘Mystery Guitarist’… (No news on the attendance of Dick Branson).
Seems billionaire Sir Richard Branson and his Virgin empire have nothing better to do than pick on the 3 Monkeys. In an email to our IP attorney, reps for Virgin say our own Virgil™ mark is too close to their Virgin stylized mark.
According to them the fonts are too similar, and they both have a hooked V at the front and an underline of the last five letters. I mean consumers could easily mistake a 30 watt guitar amplifier for a giant airplane or a failed record store chain. Those customers owning a Virgil™ better hold on to it, it is now a collector’s item!! Thanks Dick.
Premier Guitar Magazine has a review of Virgil in it’s latest issue. Nice write-up, although there is one error, we did not name the amp after former WWF wrestler Ted “The Million Dollar Man” DiBiase’s bow-tied bodyguard, “Virgil” (I don’t even know who that is). Instead “Virgil” is named after the monkey in the 1987 film ‘Project X’ (I know, very obscure).
Don’t forget 3 Monkeys and Premier Guitar are giving away a low serial number Limited Edition Virgil head this month. Go here to register to win.

Not only did Jim James and My Morning Jacket play a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden this week, they also appeared on Late Night with David Letterman. Jim used his trusty Orangutan and 2×12 of course. Watch it here, at about 40 minutes in.
